N-Acetyl Glucosamine is an amino sugar derived from shell fish with exfoliating abilities similar to alpha and beta hydroxyl acid but without irritating the skin. NAG works very well with niacinamide to reduce the appearance of age spots and uneven skin pigmentation caused by sun damage.
Often used in anti-aging products as it increases hyaluronic acid production in the skin, improves skin tone and hydration, reduces both trans-epidermal water loss as well as the appearance of wrinkles.

With a recommended usage rate of 1 - 4%, up to 10%, it needs to be dissolved in water and then added to the cool down phase (below 50C/122F) of your formulation.
